What is a good alternative to latex cooking gloves?

Are these the same as biodegradable gloves?
These EcoSafe® food service gloves are certified compostable, and should not be considered biodegradable. They are certified by BPI® to break down in a commercial compost facility.
Products are packaged in recyclable paperboard and polyolefin plastic wrap. Please recycle all packaging where available. Recycling facilities may not be available in all areas.
This product is certified compostable to meet ASTM standards for commercial composting facilities, which may not exist in your area.
